Versionista Launches Integrated Web Versioning;
New Feature Lets Webmasters Offer Interactive Archive of All Site Pages to End-users
Today, Versionista is pleased to release a powerful new feature that
allows Webmasters to easily include automated revision history into
their site.
Once activated, Versionista's integrated Web versioning automatically
includes a "last revised" timestamp on every monitored page. A click
on the timestamp allows visitors to interactively explore archives of
previous versions, visually noting the exact words and sentences that
have been added or deleted from edit to edit.
With an ever-growing demand for greater transparency, accountability,
and enhanced disclosure, Versionista's integrated Web versioning affords Web
sites the ability to comprehensively engage with visitors. A public
archive of any Web page's previous versions lets visitors note
changes since their last visit, and get a better sense of both the
frequency and relevance of ongoing edits.
Today's Web sites are living, breathing things. Versionista's new
integrated Web versioning lets Webmasters more tightly connect with
their audience, by automatically notating and updating the last
revised date on every Web page, and offering full access to an
archive of previous versions. At the same time, advanced regular
expression filters, and the ability to selectively purge unwanted or
irrelevant versions, give Webmasters the tools needed to effectively
deploy this feature.
Versionista's integrated Web versioning can be applied to an entire
Web site, or selectively to different pages, including, for
example:
- To a "Job Openings" area, to show seekers what's changed since their last visit;
- To end-user license agreements and other Web-based contracts, to
visually show exact changes;
- To product and service feature pages, to highlight growth of
product value;
- To government pages, to detail legislative history and revision
of
policy and other public documents;
- To internal Web projects, to allow editors to archive and follow development over time.
Much of today's Web audience revisits the same page, day after day,
making pilgrimages to sites of interest to look for changes. By
utilizing Versionista's integrated Web versioning, Web sites can arm
their audience with tools to make more efficient use of their time,
pinpointing precise changes since their last visit.
